Special features of tesa® flameXtinct adhesive tapes

The tesa® flameXtinct adhesive tapes meet the flame retardant standards. In addition, they also comply with all industry standards, such as UL 94 und FMVSS 302. They are flame retardantand extinguish themselves after a short time, which significantly improves fire protection. The development of the fire can be delayed or even extinguished by itself, giving the fire brigade more time to intervene in time to save living beings or objects from the flames.

In addition, the adhesive tapes are halogen-free, which reduces the formation of toxic smoke. This is an important aspect, as toxic smoke is a major cause of deaths in fires. Reducing this smoke development is an important safety aspect.

The flame-retardant adhesive tapes are available in different thicknesses, the flexible PET and fleece carriers make it possible to use them for laminating applications with fire protection requirements. The flame retardancy is tested according to UL 94 and FMVSS 302. They have excellent initial and final adhesive strength on polar surfaces and the PET variants can be punched very easily. The fleece variant is transparent or translucent and can therefore be used well for invisible applications. This adhesive tape is used for permanent assembly in demanding applications. The acrylic adhesive and the PE foam are flame-retardant. These properties are tested according to UL 94 (HBF -HF1). The adhesive has excellent adhesive strength on a wide range of surfaces. Compared to other flame-retardant bonding solutions, the PE foam adhesive tape is extremly lightweight. It also has high adaption and damping properties.

The main areas of application are the bonding of strips and stiffening elements in elevator construction, the fastening of lightweight components in marine or special vehicles and bonding in the passenger area of rail vehicles. But tesa® flameXtinct 45001 is also suitable for bonding light wall panels, decorative elements and light ceiling coverings..
